The Trust is primarily focused on:
-
Establishing, running and maintaining palliative care hospitals & hospices
-
Providing education and training in palliative care for doctors, nurses, community social workers and health assistants to ensure availability of skilled staff for the larger palliative care sector
-
Creating awareness in the community on palliative and hospice care
DR. REPUBLICA SRIDHAR
Founder & Managing Trustee
RMD is one of the leading pain and palliative care service providers for the terminally ill in and around Tamil Nadu. It has been the goal of RMD Trust to be able to provide quality care to the maximum number of people with a special focus on people from marginalised socio-economic backgrounds. We have successfully been able to achieve this by impacting the lives of over 96,000 beneficiaries and providing individualised care through outpatient, inpatient, home-based and hospital care.
Going beyond direct service provision, RMD has played an important role in the healthcare sector by fulfilling the need for competent professionals in palliative care. This is especially important considering the high demand for these services. I would like to also take this opportunity to thank the government agencies, the communities and our staff at RMD who have helped us achieve new milestones in palliative care. With the help of these missionaries, we hope to reach greater heights.
